The plate frame in the normal spot is plastic, therefore the magnetic dealer plate will not go there.

Yep. Our resident BMW salesman once got a ticket because the plate fell off while he was giving a test drive.

Lol! I once saw this on a different car in which holes were drilled into the center of the trunk and there was an obvious spot right in the bumper for the plate.

Yeah, they do it so they don’t have to waste time screwing the plate on to go to fill it up with gas and then unscrew it when they return.
